How We Care for Psychiatric Patients in Austin
A Step-by-Step Guide for Care

Accessing any type of healthcare can be anxiety-inducing and overwhelming, but we strive to make it as simple and clear as possible. From the moment you get a referral to us or reach out to our team, we’ll provide you with the information you need to feel confident moving forward with scheduling your first appointment. Below, we invite you to learn a little more about what to expect throughout your journey.
1. You Find Us

Many of our patients find our practice through an online search engine or by being referred to us by their physician or therapist. Once you do, feel free to browse our website to view the services we offer, our credentials, and important insurance information.
2. We Talk on the Phone

The next step after you find us online is to give us a call or fill out our online inquiry form. You’ll have a chance to speak with our knowledgeable and friendly front office staff who can answer any questions you have, verify your insurance, and schedule your intake appointment. If you prefer, you can also book an appointment with us directly through our portal.
3. You Fill Out Your Intake Paperwork

We’ll send your new patient intake paperwork to you digitally through our HIPAA-compliant platform. This will include consent forms, a medical health questionnaire, and have you list your medical history and current medications. We’ll also confirm your insurance benefits or out-of-pocket expenses and send you reminders via email or text about your appointment.
4. You Come to Our Office for Your First Appointment

Our team is welcoming and non-judgmental, and depending on your preference, you’ll have the option to schedule either a virtual or in-person visit. We’ll complete a psychiatric evaluation where we discuss the symptoms you’re experiencing, your mental health history, and your goals. Our comprehensive treatment plan could include meds, labs, and/or therapy.
5. We Send You a Visit Summary

After your appointment with us, our team will send you a visit summary, any prescriptions that have been sent to the pharmacy, and follow-up instructions. You’ll also gain access to our secure messaging platform if you have any questions.
6. We Schedule Your Follow-Up Visits

Depending on your treatment plan, we may schedule a follow-up visit for you between two and six weeks out. If you are doing therapy, you will schedule routine ongoing visits with your therapist moving forward.
